The Relational Nature of Reality

How we relate to each other directly correlates to how we relate to and experience God. This is not a metaphor — it is the structural reality of the universe. The quality of our relationships reveals the quality of our relationship with God. This is not a rule. It is an invitation into a deeper way of being human.

Quality of Relationships

We are not interested in whether relationships exist, but in what kind they are. Every human heart longs for more — greater depth of encounter, greater intimacy in truly "knowing" the Other. This restlessness is not a deficiency. It is the fingerprint of the divine image within us.

The search for more is not greed — it is the echo of being made for a love we have not yet fully experienced. Christ affirmed this longing. He did not say "be content with what you have." He said, "I came that you might have life, and have it abundantly."

Nature of Relationship — Trinity (3 & 1)

The Trinity is not an abstract doctrine. It is God's own life — three persons in one, a differentiated unity. Not uniformity, but a dynamic, living relationship where difference is held within love. This is the pattern for all of life.

Differentiated-Unity (Acts 2)

At Pentecost, the Spirit did not erase difference — each person heard in their own language. Unity through diversity, not despite it. This is the Common Ground conviction: that genuine community intensifies our unique individuality through the Spirit's unity between us, rather than conforming us into identical replicas.

Cycle of Openness and Closure

Every relationship moves through seasons of opening and closing, vulnerability and self-protection. This is not failure — it is the rhythm of genuine encounter. We open, we are affected, we withdraw to integrate, and then we open again — changed. Faith does not eliminate this cycle. It deepens it.
